Dr. Wolfert

Dr. Wolfert was born in NYC and spent his youth in the Bronx where he attended the High School of Science. After graduating from New York University, he attended medical school at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.  He completed his residency at the Bronx Municipal Hospital Center.  Dr. Wolfert said his farewells to New York to do his fellowship at The Medical College of Virginia (now Virginia Commonwealth), where he did basic research in Acute Kidney Injury and provided care to home dialysis patients.

 

Dr. Wolfert moved to Pittsburgh in 1988 to join Allegheny General Hospital where he became Medical Director of the dialysis clinic and participated in the development of the Kidney Fellowship training program.

 

He joined Teredesai, McCann and  Associates, PC in 1998 and has continued to enjoy working with patients that have kidney disease.  Dr. Wolfert remains Medical Director of Dialysis Clinics and has an interest in caring for patients with kidney stones and other kidney disease.

 

Dr. Wolfert is active in the community and served as president of the medical staff at Heritage Valley Sewickley.  He also served as chair of the medical advisory board of the regional affiliate of The National Kidney Foundation and a member of The End Stage Renal Disease network which assures quality care for dialysis patients.

 

Dr. Wolfert resides in the Pittsburgh area with his wife and dog and tries to get to Washington D.C. as much as possible to see his grandchildren.
