Dr. Elias Bahta, M.D.
Dr. Bahta attended Medical School at Jimma Institute of Health Science Ethiopia and his residency at the University of Rome La'Sapienza. Dr. Bahta completed his Internal Medicine residency and his fellowship for Interventional Nephrology at Louisiana State University Health Science Center.
He is an active member of the American Society of Nephrology and the American Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology.
He holds a certification for Advanced International Nephrology, along with having 14+ years of experience in nephrology and having performed close to 10,000 procedures. See More...

Dr. Pradip Teredesai, M.D.
Dr. Teredesai is the founder of the private practice. He has been in practice since 1978. Dr. Teredesai is board certified in both nephrology and internal medicine. He was elected a fellow in nephrology by the American College of Physicians. He also has been an active member of the ESRD Network for many years.
He is a member of the Allegheny and Pennsylvania Medical Societies, Pennsylvania Medical Association, American College of Physicians, American Society of Nephrology, Renal Physicians Association, American and International Society of Artificial Internal Organs, and Kidney Foundation of Western Pennsylvania. In 1981, Dr. Teredesai was named to the Who's Who in the East.
Dr. James McCann, D.O.
Dr. McCann is board certified in nephrology and internal medicine. He has completed a fellowship in nephrology at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in Ohio and his internal medicine residencies at Huron Road Hospital and St. Luke's Hospital, both in Cleveland, Ohio.
Dr. McCann is a member of the American Society of Nephrology and the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association. Prior to coming to this area, Dr. McCann was in a private practice in Erie.

Dr. Qizhi Xie, M.D., Ph.D
Dr. Xie is board certified in both nephrology and internal medicine. He completed a fellowship in nephrology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center of Nashville, Tennessee. His internal medicine residency was completed at St. Luke's Hospital in St. Louis Missouri. Dr. Xie is a member of the American Society of Nephrology.
Dr. Allen Wolfert, M.D.
Dr. Wolfert was born in NYC and spent his youth in the Bronx where he attended the High School of Science. After graduating from New York University, he attended medical school at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He completed his residency at the Bronx Municipal Hospital Center. Dr. Wolfert said his farewells to New York to do his fellowship at The Medical College of Virginia (now Virginia Commonwealth), where he did basic research in Acute Kidney Injury and provided care to home dialysis patients. Dr. Matthew Pesacreta, M.D.
Dr. Matthew Pesacreta was born in Pittsburgh, PA and graduated from Bucknell University. He attended medical school at The University of Pittsburgh and completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at UPMC. He completed fellowships in both Geriatrics and Nephrology at The University of Pittsburgh, and maintains board certification in both Internal Medicine and Nephrology.
Dr. Pesacreta has 20+ years of experience treating patients with kidney disorders ranging from kidney stones to End Stage Renal Disease. He also has served as medical director at several dialysis clinics over the past 15+ years.
In addition to his Nephrology practice, Dr. Pesacreta is a member of the Renal Physicians Association and the American Society of Nephrology. He is chairman of the board of St. Clair Physician Partners, board member of The BRIDGES (conglomeration of local health care organizations) and the St. Clair Hospital board. Dr. Pesacreta resides in the Pittsburgh area enjoying life with his wife, five children and two dogs.

Dr. Joshua C. Sysak, D.O.
Dr. Sysak completed his undergraduate work at Duquesne University and his medical school degree at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Sysak completed his internal medicine residency at the Western Pennsylvania Hospital and his Nephrology fellow ship at Allegheny General Hospital. He is an active member of the American Society of Nephrology and the American Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology. Dr. Nirav Patel, M.D.
Dr. Nirav Patel completed his Undergraduate and Medical Education at George Washington University, Washington, District of Columbia. He completed his residency training at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New jersey, New Jersey Medical School, Newark, NJ. Then continued on at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA for his fellowship training. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology. Dr. Patel is also certified by the American Society of diagnostic and interventional nephrology (ASDIN)
Dr. Ameet Karambelkar, M.D.
Dr. Ameet J. Karambelkar, M.D., completed his Undergraduate Bachelor of Science, Business Management at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. He attended Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University in New York for his Doctor of Medicine degree. Dr. Karambelkar did his internship and residency at Montefiore Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He completed his postdoctoral training in Pittsburgh, PA at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center as a Renal Fellow and then a Chief Renal Fellow. He is a member of the NKF and the ASN.

Dr. He completed his medical education at Shanghai Medical University, School of Medicine in Shanghai China. He attended the University of Maryland at Baltimore for both his Masters and Ph.D. degrees. Dr. He did his Internal Medicine Residency at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana and his Nephrology Fellowship at the University of South Florida, College of Medicine in Tampa, Florida. He is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Society of Nephrology.

Dr. Elizabeth Kurtz, M.D.
Dr. Elizabeth Kurtz completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She Attended Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut for her Medical degree, and went on to Boston, Massachusetts for her Residency in Internal Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Kurtz completed her Renal Electrolyte Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

Dr. Alonso Diaz completed his Bachelors of Science degree in Biology and Philosophy at The University of Chicago. He attended The university of Buffalo for Medical School and completed his Internal Medicine Residency. Followed by his Nephrology Fellowship at the University of California Davis located in Davis California. Dr. Diaz was born in New York City and now joins us in Pittsburgh, PA. He is board certified in both Nephrology and Internal Medicine. His major practice interests lie in CKD Management, Hypertension Management, Hemodialysis, Kidney Stones and Glomerulonephritis.

Samantha Torok is a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner who has been practicing in the field of Nephrology for over 15 years. She earned her Bachelor’s of Nursing from Ohio University and completed her MSN with a focus on Acute Care Nurse Practitioner at the University of Pittsburgh. Sam is a Member of American Society of Nephrology since 2009 and is certified in Basic Life Support.
